Why CIER Madrasa Education is Needed for Our Children ?
CIER (Centre for Islamic Education and Research), established in 2002 as part of one of Kerala’s largest Islamic movements, focuses on providing Islamic education alongside contemporary knowledge to nurture students’ spiritual, moral, and intellectual growth. Founded by Dr. E.K. Ahmad Kutty, former Head of the Arabic Department at Calicut University, CIER has modernized Islamic education through activity-based textbooks in Malayalam and Arabic, featuring colorful visuals, interactive exercises, and audio resources to promote critical thinking and practical learning.
The textbooks are now widely used in Islamic institutions, English-medium schools, and even in Gulf countries. Classes are designed to complement regular schooling, with practical activities like calculating zakat involving families and math skills. CIER also hosts conventions to promote its model of madrasa education and plans to expand teacher training programs to enhance educational quality further.
